Introduction

Although I have seen numerous houses, one of them caught my attention and hence it is worth mentioning.

Whose house/apartment is this?

This house belongs to one of my bosom friends Dr Rimple Sharma. She has left no stone unturned to design her home unusually.

Where the house/apartment is?

The house is in a countryside area, far away from the hustle and bustle of cities. From the outside, it looks like a simple accommodation, but its interior makes it special.

What it looks like inside?

The inside of the house is a lethal combination of nature and technology. Various indoor plants are placed in every nook and corner. A water curtain in the middle of the drawing room produces a natural sound. Apart from this, two fish aquariums are there.

The other peculiar feature is the prudent use of the windows. All windows have solar panels, which convert solar energy into electricity. Due to this, the house generates electricity on its own.

A small library inside the house has a huge collection of books from worldwide.

Apart from this, a mini gymnasium is where the latest equipment is to keep our bodies in good shape. Dr Rimple spends one hour in the gym as a fitness enthusiast.

And explain what you like or dislike about this person’s house/apartment.

The best thing I liked about the house was the effective utilization of space. Every corner of the house is put to use through meticulous design and planning.

In this modern era where houses are increasing global warming, this particular abode has carved out a niche by being an environment-friendly place.

Sample Answer 2

Introduction

In the past few decades, the designs of houses have experienced a paradigm shift. Recently I visited an apartment that is built tastefully.

 Whose house/apartment is this?

The apartment belongs to my uncle, who is a seasoned businessman.

Where the house/apartment is?

It is a penthouse on the 31st floor of a building in the city’s centre.

What it looks like inside?

Although it is flat, the inside is of a villa. There are five spacious bedrooms, and one of the rooms is soundproof, where one can play the music of his choice without disturbing others.

Apart from this, there is a separate section for a spa with facilities of steam, sauna and jacuzzi, and an outdoor swimming pool too.

Moreover, there is a study room that contains books by various authors; I would say it is a mini library.

Being a fitness enthusiast, my uncle has made a small outdoor gymnasium with all the modern machines.

Lastly, the kitchen area is a special feature of this house. It is bifurcated into two sections. The first half is a dry kitchen, and the second part is for washing utensils and other activities.

And explain what you like or dislike about this person’s house/apartment.

The thing I like about this flat is its placement on the 31st floor. You get a 360-degree view of the city and clean and pristine air from there.

Apart from this, the apartment is environmentally friendly; most of the water used gets recycled, and installing solar panels on the roof helps to generate electricity through solar power.

Follow up Questions

1. What kinds of homes are most popular in your country? Why is this?

In my country, the population is growing at an alarming rate. Due to this reason finding vacant land is a daunting task. Moreover, the available land is usually high-priced.

To address this issue, the government is promoting group housing. Many of society prefer to live in houses and apartments because of the low cost and better facilities.

2. What are the advantages of living in a house rather than an apartment?

Living in a house’s most significant advantage is having roof rights. Moreover, neighbours have less disturbance because of the open space in between.

Apart from this, changing the layout and reconstruction of the property can be done without much of a problem.

3. Do you think that everyone would like to live in a larger home? Why is that?

Not everyone would like to live in a larger home because some people are happy to live in a smaller home. There is no denying this conviction that maintenance of a big accommodation is a daunting task.

Due to this reason, many people refer to living in a small house.

4. How easy is it to find a place to live in your country?

In my country, finding a place is a daunting task in big cities. On the other hand, in small towns and villages, a plethora of options are there.

5. Do you think it’s better to rent or to buy a place to live in? Why?

Buying a house is prudent because the money you pay for rent goes to waste. On the other hand, the EMI paid by you builds an asset for you,

Moreover, you can alter a house you own per your choice, which is usually impossible in rented accommodation.

6. Do you agree that there is a suitable age for young adults to stop living with their parents? Why is that?

In my opinion, living with parents is a prudent approach. However, when the family grows, there is a shortage of space in the house. In such a scenario, staying away from your parents is worthwhile. Age should not be the criterion; one should look at comfort while shifting.
