Follow up Questions

Here are some examples of follow-up questions that the examiner might ask during your speaking part 3 related to the cue card “Describe a movie you would like to watch again”.

1. What’s the difference between watching a movie at home and watching it in the cinema?

There are numerous variances between watching a film in the comfort of home and in a movie theatre. Watching a movie at home leads to substantial savings in your money and time. Moreover, it allows us to multitask and switch to another channel if we dislike the movie.

On the other hand, in the movie theatre, we watch a movie on the giant screen, which provides us with an amazing experience, especially in action movies. Moreover, we cherish the company of our dear ones and savour our favorite mouth-watering delicacies in the interval.

2. Do young Indians like to watch foreign movies?

Yes, young people have this uncanny knack for giving more attention to foreign films instead of local ones. The prominent reason for this is the better technology and effects used in foreign films. Youngsters get an opportunity to learn the language, and the content is different, so they acquire good knowledge of the foreign culture.

3. How would you define a good movie?

A good movie thrives primarily on a good script, consummate actors, efficient direction, mind-boggling special effects and last but not least, it should spread a message.

4. Is it important to have famous actors in the movie if the movie wants to be successful?

In the current times, new actors have also carved out a niche. A movie does not pivot around famous actors; it can gain immense success with its storyline. Moreover, big stars are risky because they raise the budget of the film and the chances of losses are higher in case the film turns out to be a flop.

5. Do you prefer to watch a movie at home or at the cinema?

Being a busy person, I like watching a movie in the comforts of home more than in the movie theatre. It helps me save two precious resources, which are time and money. Moreover, I can switch to another channel if the movie doesn’t appeal to me. Apart from this, it permits me to multitask.

6. Do you think that cinemas will disappear in the future?

What lies in the future is a mystery for us, but there is no denying this conviction that cinemas will never disappear. Going out and enjoying yourself with friends and family appeals to people. In the past few decades, there has been substantial growth in theatres, showing that people are passionate about watching films in movie theatres.
