Introduction

Although I know many foreigners who can speak Hindi perfectly, one is close to me, so he is worth mentioning.

Who this person is

He is my friend Andrew.

Where is from

He is from England

How he learns Hindi

He has learned Hindi through various methods. Firstly, his mother helped him a lot who hails from India. His dad is British who married an Indian girl. Since childhood, he remained in an environment where he learned both Hindi and English.

And explain why he can speak Hindi well.

He can speak Hindi well for many reasons. Firstly, his upbringing helped him a lot. His father worked as an ambassador in the British embassy, so Andrew mostly remained in the company of Hindi-speaking people.

Moreover, the bulk of his education is from India, and although Hindi was not his subject in school, he learned the basics by interacting with the native population.

Apart from this, his love for Bollywood music has helped him become an expert in the Hindi language. Since his childhood, he has had a penchant for singing. He wanted to sing Hindi songs, but reading the lyrics was challenging. He worked with determination, dedication, and discipline to learn Hindi from a seasoned Hindi language teacher to overcome this weakness.

His hard work paid him off, and within six months, he learned to write and read English. Now, he pursues his singing by narrating the lyrics like a native Hindi speaker.

Apart from this, his mission to work as an ambassador in India for England has always motivated him to learn Hindi so that he can learn Indian culture and traditions in a better way.

Sample 2

I have met various foreigners throughout my life, but today, I will talk about a multi-lingual person who fluently speaks Hindi. His name is John, and I met him at a yoga competition last year. I was utterly astonished at how he spoke fluently.

I was doing aasna in the wrong way. Seeing my plight, he explained that I was doing the wrong pose and could harm my health. He explained to me the correct pose, and that too in Hindi.

I was utterly astonished at her speaking fluency, and to my amazement, I asked him how he could speak fluently in that way, and he explained that he comes to Rishikesh every year for a yoga competition. He loves the Hindi culture and language and has taken online courses and several YouTube tutorials.

Apart from this, he also learned Hindi by speaking to the native people in India, especially those from Rishikesh. I also met him at another competition. I asked him if he would come to our festival, Diwali, where he could also see the culture and rituals of our country and he could also learn more about the Hindi language and traditions. He agreed to come, and I contact him whenever I have any problem. He is a foreigner who speaks Hindi in a very fluent way.

Sample 3

I know many foreigners who can speak a native language well. However, this one is special as she could converse in my mother tongue with ease. She is Canadian, and her name is Carol Peterson. She learned Hindi five years ago.

She came on a business trip to India and while travelling to the remote corners of this country, she interacted with a lot of interesting people, and she found that she could learn more about the culture by interacting with people in the native language.

So, she went to Canada, and there she hired a Hindi trainer. From her,
she learned all the basics of the language. Then she started conversing in that, and with rigorous practice for two years, she learned to speak in Hindu. Meeting her is always an aspiring experience because not only did she learn Hindi, but she also learned about our culture, and she knows the history of my country, about our religions, about our customs, about our traditions.

So, when I talk with her, it doesn’t seem like, I’m talking
to a foreigner, I feel that I am talking to a person who is from my nation.

She speaks with correct pronunciation, and you can assume her to be an Indian citizen as she has spread the good points of our language in Canada also, and there she started with classes and because many people in her neighborhood know Hindi.
