Introduction

Being a competitive person, I always try to compete in those fields where I am an expert. However, this time, I am willing to go beyond the conventional domain and try an activity where I am a novice.

What kind of competition is it?

I want to participate in a cooking competition in July in my city. The celebrity chefs judge it.

What would you do in this competition?

Being a big-time food enthusiast, I always wanted to learn culinary skills to cook the mouthwatering delicacies of my choice.

However, due to a shortage of time, I never had the opportunity to learn to cook. In 2020 there was a lockdown in our country due to the corona pandemic.

I learned how to cook during that time by watching a boatload of videos on Youtube and Instagram.

Initially, I found it challenging to cook, but I worked with determination, dedication, and discipline, and with two months of rigorous practice, I learned the basics of cooking.

And eventually, with regular practice and experimentation, I have created a few delicacies of my own, which could help me start a restaurant as a business.

In this competition, I will do mimicry of various celebrities. Firstly I will do a parody of Bollywood superstar Sharukh Khan. I have chosen him for my act because his style is unique and would be challenging for other participants.

Moreover, by doing his parody, I will woo the audience and generate guffaws of laughter because the style of Sharkugh Khan appeals to the audience.

Why does this competition interest you?

This competition interests me for two reasons. Firstly regular competitions do not appeal to me because I have been participating in them for ages. Now I feel monotonous, so I would like to try a field where I am a novice. Moreover, it would be a challenge because I do not have much idea about doing mimicry. Still, I will do rigorous practice with determination, dedication, and discipline to carve a niche for myself.

Apart from this, mimicry is an art that appeals to people from all walks of life. It helps them to reduce their stress and pass their leisure time productively. Although people like regular competitions like singing, and dancing, they do not laugh by watching them. Hence, participating in a mimicry competition would be a prudent approach for me.

4. Why do you think there are many competitive programs on TV today?

The prominent reason for this development is that people are no longer interested in daily soaps and other tv programs. They have developed a strong disliking for scripted programs. Due to this reason, competition programs where the participants leave no stone unturned to give their best performances are gaining momentum.
