I am a nature lover. I tend to spend my weekends near lakes, rivers or hills. There is a water body in my hometown, significant for tourists and localities.

Which water body is that?

It is a lake, and its moniker is Sukhna Lake.

How do you know that?

When I was six years old, my family shifted to Chandigarh. The first time I visited Sukhna Lake was when I turned seven, and I have been visiting this place for 20 years. Some special memories are etched in my heart.

Why does it impress you so much?

This lake impresses me for two reasons. Firstly it makes me feel close to nature. People run from pillar to post to meet both ends in this contemporary epoch.

In such a scenario spending quality time in the arms of nature makes you feel relaxed. My relationship with the lake has grown appreciably.

Whenever I feel jaded, I visit Sukhna Lake to bring enthusiasm back into my life. All my worries go for a toss when I sit near it.

Apart from this, Sukhna Lake has helped me widen my social circle. Being a regular visitor, I meet my old friends and new people. Many of my friends are those I met for the first time at the lake.

Every weekend I meet my friends at the lake, and we have a gala time together. We do activities like fishing, swimming, and boating. Apart from this, we eat our favorite mouth-watering delicacies at the lake’s restaurant.

Sample Answer 2 (Ganges River idea)

Introduction

India is a place that is blessed with a vast network of rivers and lakes. Although there are many water bodies in my country, one of them is worth mentioning.

Which water body is that?

It is a river, and its name is the Ganges. The native people call it a holy river.

How do you know that?

I have relatives who stay in Haridwar city; the Ganges river passes through it. I visit them during the summer holidays. Every time I visit them, I closely look at the river by sitting on its banks for hours.

Why does it impress you so much?

It impresses me much because for umpteen reasons. First of all, it provides drinking water to billions of people. It passes through numerous states and quenches the thirst of a sizeable part of the population. Furthermore, a large part of the Indian population considers its water divine.

Apart from this, it helps the farmers in irrigation. The agriculturists of many states thrive primarily on the Ganges to water their fields. This river is imperative to strengthen the economy of our nation, which pivots around agriculture. And in case of uneven monsoon, this water body is the only option for farmers to survive.

Thirdly, this river is a worship place of the Hindu religion in India. The last rites of any deceased persons are incomplete without the immersion of the ashes in the Ganges.

Moreover, on the banks of this river, I find eternal peace and happiness. My time passes quicker, and all my worries go for a toss.
