Plastics and chemicals are becoming threat to the planet. Discuss its reasons and solution.

Sample Answer

In the contemporary epoch, the immense consumption of plastic and chemicals has become a pressing problem for the planet. This essay will suggest that the primary cause of this issue is pollution caused by plastic and chemicals, and limited use with a proper recycling system is a viable solution, followed by a reasoned conclusion.

Plastic does not decompose itself and can end up in oceans, rivers, and ponds, leading to water pollution and harming wildlife and the ecosystem. Moreover, the presence of plastic and chemicals in the soil leads to unfertile ground, which is the primary barrier to the growth of agriculture. Additionally, chemicals contain toxic gases which affect people’s health and the environment. To exemplify, The Ganga is a holy river in India that is 90% polluted with plastic and chemicals. Therefore, people believe it is a significant threat to the surrounding people and the planet.

There is no denying this conviction that the problems created by plastic and chemicals can never be solved completely. However, there are few solutions available to minimize them. Such as, people should avoid the unnecessary use of plastic by using reusable bags, bottles, and containers. Also, the government should be publicly aware of how to recycle plastic properly and use chemicals wisely. For instance, the authorities have banned plastic bags in Canada and motivated people to use cloth bags; each city also provides plastic recycling compactors.

To sum up, undoubtedly, the aftermaths of plastic and chemicals have proven to be the biggest threat to the planet, but this issue can be resolved to some extent with the equal contribution of both people and the government.
