Introduction

As a law-abiding citizen, I am above the rules and regulations, irrespective of whether they are stringent.

Although I like to follow many rules, one is unique and worth mentioning.

What is it?

The rule is not to use plastic bags for daily chores. Those who use it must pay a hefty fine, and continued usage can lead to imprisonment. This rule has mixed reactions from people from all walks of life, but I love to follow this rule for the benefit of the planet earth.

Why do you like it?

I like this rule because using plastic bags is detrimental to us.

Firstly, plastic bags are non-biodegradable, meaning they do not decompose naturally in the surroundings. They can take time a sizable number of years to decompose. Due to this, they adversely impact wildlife and the ecosystem.

Secondly, plastic bag waste harms wildlife and gives our surroundings an ugly look.

Apart from this, manufacturing plastic bags requires high usage of non-renewable resources like oil and natural gas.

Lastly, Plastic bags add to the waste problem, as they are utilized only once before being thrown. They can lead to excessive unwanted waste in landfills.

Taking all the negatives of plastic bags into consideration, the administration has done a commendable job by imposing a blanket ban on the usage of plastic bags.

I like following this rule because stopping the usage of plastic bags will make the planet earth a better place to live. The cities will look clean and pristine, and the water pollution will nosedive.

Furthermore, marine life will sigh relief because millions of sea creatures die yearly due to the rampant usage of plastic bags.
