Introduction

Being a dweller in North India, where we have to work in scorching heat for most of the year, quenching the thirst by having our favourite beverage is an integral part of our lives.

Although I savour many drinks, one is exceptional, and hence it is worth mentioning.

What is it?

It is coconut water.

Do you buy it or prepare it at home?

Coconut water comes in two forms, the first option is to have it from raw coconut, and the second is bottled.

Being a fitness freak, I prefer the organic one and buy it from roadside vendors.

And explain why this is your favourite drink.?

It is my favourite drink because of many reasons. Firstly it is nutritious as it provides electrolytes, like potassium, sodium, and magnesium, which can support us in recovering the body’s fluids and electrolytes after a physical workout or travelling in the scorching heat.

Moreover, it has lauric acid, which declines cholesterol levels and betters heart health.

Furthermore, being a fitness freak, I love to remain slim and trim, and coconut water helps me lose weight because it contains fewer calories. It also reduces our appetite and keeps our metabolism in good shape.

I remember during the corona pandemic in lockdown, I had gained a lot of weight, and to lose that, I stopped drinking carbonated drinks and replaced them with coconut water. This change has worked like a charm for me, and I lost considerable weight.

On the other hand, cold beverages, like water or smoothies, are doubtlessly refreshing and quench our thirst. However, for our stomachs to be in good shape, it is essential to have hot beverages. Hence, having warm drinks is a prudent approach.
