Introduction

There is no denying this conviction that fountains enhance the beauty of cities.

Although I have seen a plethora of fountains in various parts of my country, one of them is special, and hence it is worth mentioning.

Where is it?

It is in the middle of sector 17, Chandigarh.

How did you learn about it?

Ten years back, I visited sector 17, Chandigarh for the first time. During the visit, I was tired after shopping. To relax, I sat on a bench in the garden. At 7 pm, the fountain started running. That time I experienced it for the first time.

From my cousin, a local of Chandigarh, I gained knowledge about the fountain’s history. He told me that the local administration enacted it in the year 1965 in the middle of the garden of Sector 17, Chandigarh.

Describe the fountain.

The fountain lies in a circular water body. The tiles inside are blue, and to add to their beauty, it contains lights of assorted colours. Apart from this, it is surrounded by trees.

Why did you like it so much?

The fountain lies in northern India, and this part experiences scorching heat for eight months a year. During the evening, it relieves the visitors from the hot weather.

Moreover, whenever I sit in from of this fountain, I feel stress-free.In this modern era, where fierce competition has become an integral part of our lives, such places help us to break the monotony and rewind ourselves.

Lastly, this fountain enhances the beauty of the city beautiful Chandigarh.
