A few individuals believe this is good, while others opine that face-to-face conversations are mandatory. This essay firmly believes that making friends through social media is a worthwhile proposition. However, this essay will discuss both views.
In this modern era, a section of society opines that making friends on social media and internet chat groups is good. It is because these days, the network penetration of the internet and social media has grown considerably. After all, they are quite a user friendly. It is true to quite an extent because the majority of the population use social media. After all, in this contemporary epoch, it is the primary source of entertainment for people. Moreover, people can join various groups of their interest and connect to new people having the same interest from different countries, which will also make them aware of various cultures. For example, I have a keen interest in learning Spanish so I joined various groups which teach this language and connected with a lot of Spanish people who became my friends and helped me learn the basics of Spanish.
On the other hand, certain people believe that face-to-face interaction is necessary. There is no denying this conviction that the in-person interactions help the individuals get to know each other in a better way. However, in today’s world, most people have a hectic schedule which leaves less time at their disposal to socialize with people personally. People prefer to spend their week off with their families instead of going out to meet new people. A recent survey has depicted that friendships made using social media lasts longer because of seamless connectivity.
To summarize, making a new friend on the internet and social media is a better proposition as compared to face-to-face interactions in this modern era.
