Model Answer
In this contemporary epoch, visitors and researchers can explore remote natural places. This essay will argue that the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages. The essay will first demonstrate that attaining mental peace and development of the area are the main advantages of this, followed by an analysis of how the primary disadvantage, namely creating pollution, is not valid.
The main reason for tourists to explore remote natural areas is that they wish to have mental peace. Nowadays, people have immense stress because of their work, so some people want to calm themselves by visiting a quiet natural place. For instance, I like to explore remote areas in the Himalayas every year to escape the fast-paced lifestyle. Whereas some researchers are permitted to visit natural places to help develop the site and come up with ideas to provide a better lifestyle for the locals. Moreover, this can help scientists to find rare species of vegetation which can be used for research for the betterment of the people. For example, as per a study by The Times of India, many medicines are made from natural herbs, which were explored by researchers in remote areas many years back.
Those opposing it say that allowing tourists and scientists to explore natural places would pollute those areas. It is because, in future years, more and more people will visit these areas destroying the natural habitat. However, most people who visit these places take preventive measures and try not to disturb the natural harmony of the site. Moreover, governments also adopt stringent yardsticks to maintain the serenity of these places. For example, most tourists who go on trekking carry all their waste materials back to keep the area clean.
On balance, the fact that exploring natural places helps attain peace and development in that area outweighs the flawed argument that it would lead to pollution there.
