Model Answer
In this contemporary epoch, visitors and researchers are permitted to explore remote natural places. This essay will argue that the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages. The essay will first demonstrate that attaining mental peace and development of the area are the main advantages of this, followed by an analysis of how the primary disadvantage, namely creating pollution, is not valid.
The main reason for tourists to explore remote natural areas is because they wish to have mental peace. Nowadays, as people have immense stress in their lives because of their work so some people wish to calm themselves by visiting a silent natural place. For instance, every year, I like to explore remote places in the Himalayas to escape the fast-paced lifestyle. Whereas, some researchers are permitted to visit natural places so that they can help in the development of the place and come with ideas to provide a better lifestyle for the locals. Moreover, this can help scientists to find rare species of vegetation which can be used for research for the betterment of the people. For example, as per a study done by The Times of India a lot of medicines are made from natural herbs which were explored by researchers in remote areas many years back.
Those opposing it say that allowing tourists and scientists to explore natural places would pollute those areas. It is because in future years more and more people will visit these areas destroying the natural habitat. However, most of the people who visit these places take preventive measures and try not to disturb the natural harmony of the area. Moreover, governments also adopt stringent yardsticks to maintain the serenity of these places. For example, most tourists who go on trekking carry all their waste materials back to keep the place clean.
On balance, the fact that exploring natural places helps to attain peace and development of that area outweighs the flawed argument that it would lead to pollution at that place.
