IELTS Speaking Part 1 Weekends
What do you usually do on weekends?
As I said, I love to watch TV with my family, and apart from that, I have a keen interest in playing games on the weekend because it gives me mental satisfaction from working after working all week. Also, I love to cook food independently, as if it’s my hobby.
In your country, do men and women usually do the same things on weekends?
It’s similar here in Canada, but in my country, where I belong, most men spend their time with their friends, like going outside, engaging in activities like playing games outside and hanging out with friends. If I talk, I compare them with women who love to spend time with their families, and they’re mostly busy with their household chores, so that’s how in my country they like to spend their weekends.
When do you spend time with your family?
Currently, I’m living in Canada, so I don’t have my family here, but in India, I used to spend time with my family during the afternoon. In the evening, during dinner time, we had dinner together, and after that, we loved to watch TV together and like daily soaps and some comedy shows.
What did you do last weekend?
Last weekend I was in Aurelia it’s a town near to my city so I was with my friends, and we went to a newly opened restaurant it’s a Mexican restaurant so we went over there to try new tacos which are pretty popular so for that reason I was over there with my friend.
What do other people in your hometown usually do on weekends?
As I see around my neighbourhood, people love to spend time with their families, and some of them like to go hiking as it’s the start of the summer and a lot of people are going outside and love to spend time in the parks, or you know to explore the surrounding areas. Also, I see some people drinking and chilling in their garages, so it’s part of our culture here in Canada.
What are you going to do next weekend?
I haven’t planned yet, but I have some work to do. For example, my car needs a service so I will go for that. Apart from that, I have to do some groceries; I may do that also.
Is there anything new that you would like to do on weekends?
There is one activity that has newly opened in our area, tree tracking, so we are where they like people to do some adventurous game in the trees. As soon as I heard about this activity, I was very excited to go over it, so I plan to go there next week or the coming day.
Do you like working on weekends?
I prefer to work on weekdays because there should be two days, like a Saturday and Sunday, free because I get bored quickly during the five working days. The two days give me mental peace and satisfaction, so I don’t prefer to work on the weekends.
Do employees have to work on weekends?
It varies significantly from person to person. If someone it’s it’s we count a weekend as overtime work. If a person needs more money apart from his job, he would prefer overtime. It’s good for them, and if a person would like to do something like chilling or something like that, they don’t want to do overtime.
Do you think weekends now are more important to you than when you were a child?
Yes, like, when I was a child, I didn’t have many tensions to do on the on to do something on the weekends like all my days were similar. Still, now I have a different kind of excitement for the weekends. Everyone is happy to see the weekends in adulthood because they work five days. Whenever they are close to the weekend, we can see the smiley faces and a kind of excitement for the weekend.
