IELTS Speaking Part 1: Feel Happy

Topic # – Feel Happy

Q1. Is there anything that makes you feel happy lately?

Doing the things I am passionate about makes me feel happy. For example, I love cooking, so whenever I cook, I get a sense of accomplishment, I get into the flow, and my time passes quickly.

Q2. What do you do to stay happy?

First and foremost, I must stay away from negative people and thoughts to stay happy. I love to spend my time with those who have done something worthwhile. By regularly interacting with them, I seek inspiration to lead my life toward an impressive growth trajectory.

Q3. Can you stay happy all the time?

It’s everyone’s dream, but it is not possible. To acquire happiness, we need to have the right balance of many things and factors, which is a daunting task.

Q4. Is it essential to be happy?

Yes, it is essential to be happy because when we are happy, we create a good aura in front of others. There is no denying this conviction that when we are joyful, we pass joy on to others and make them feel elated.

Moreover, happiness keeps us away from physical and mental disorders.

Q5.What makes you feel happy?

Whenever I am in the company of my friends and family, I feel happy. Apart from that, playing my favourite sports, like cricket, makes me feel happy.

Q6.How do you typically express happiness?

I am social, so if I  like happy feelings or happiness, I like to share my feelings with others.

Firstly, I tell my mother about all the good things that have happened to me because sharing the news makes me feel really happy. So, I like to express my happiness to others, and that’s how I like to share my happiness.

Q7.When was the last time you felt truly happy?

Every day is my happy day, but when I bought my Apple MacBook, I felt extremely happy because that was what I had been waiting for for two years. I like saving money for the same things, and I have had a chance to buy one twice. Still, I had to control myself for some reason, so I finally got my MacBook after two years. At that time, I felt really happy and the joy and kindness of getting a thing after such a long wait.

Q8.Do you think it’s important to pursue happiness?

Definitely, yes.  I think every person should be happy because happiness gives us success, leads to success, and gives us a good feeling that keeps us positive and removes our stress.

Q9.What activities do you enjoy doing that make you happy?

I love to play games, especially outdoor games, so whenever I play badminton, I feel very happy, and it doesn’t matter my mood. If my mood doesn’t matter, whatever, it’s my mood. If I play badminton, my stress fades away. For that reason, badminton gives me happiness, and that’s the only activity I can do if I feel depressed or silly.

Q10.How do you think happiness affects people’s lives?

Happiness affects people in different ways. Some people like to take it as positive and try to do more; some are satisfied only with happiness, and they like to do more things, which helps motivate people.

Q11.Can you describe a happy memory from your childhood?

The only memory is happiness. I have a lot of memories of my childhood. Every memory is very good, and I was always very happy during my childhood. Still,  one special occasion was my fifth birthday when my father organized a grand party, and we invited all our relatives and family members. At that time, I received quite a hundred gifts from different people, so I still recall that scene when my gifts surrounded me. I was sitting in the centre and happy when we opened them, so that’s part of my memorable happiness.

Q12.Do you believe that money can buy happiness?

I don’t think money can buy happiness because, like many people,  I can do anything, but I don’t think money can give you real happiness. For example,  if someone dies, money cannot bring that person back. If we are struggling with tension, money cannot help us be motivated or reduce our stress. So, for that reason, I don’t think money can bring real happiness. Other aspects matter too in our happiness.

Q13.Are there any specific places or things that always make you happy?

Yes, there are a lot of places that make me happy. First, I love the gardens, especially the botanical gardens, because I love Japanese culture, and the little botanical trees make me happy. Apart from that, whenever I like to feel close to nature, I feel extreme happiness, so whatever I see in nature, whether it be parks, a road, or whatever, I feel very happy.

Q14.How do you think people can spread happiness to others?

The only thing I see like people can spread happiness to others by helping others by, you know, solving their conflicts and by talking positively. This way, they can spread happiness.
