Introduction

There is no denying this conviction that people of the modern era thrive primarily on skills to lead their lives toward an impressive growth trajectory.

 A school is a place where we learn skills like teamwork, discipline etc.; however, there is one skill we cannot learn at school.

What is the skill?

The skill is cooking.

Why can it not be learned at school?

Learning how to cook is time-consuming because a learner needs to acquire knowledge of various spices, vegetables, cereals, lentils etc. Moreover, one must learn the various ingredients used while cooking.

In school, where a student spends around 6 hours per pad, it is challenging to devote so much time to learning how to cook. Moreover, if schools teach cooking in their curriculum, studying other important subjects will go for a toss.

Why is it important?

In the contemporary epoch, inflation has become an integral part of our lives. In such a scenario, buying outside food has become expensive. Hence, those who do not know cooking have to spend a lot of money on their meals.

Apart from this, many adulterations occur in food items these days. Thus, eating home-cooked food is a prudent approach.

Lastly, many youngsters leave their native place for education and work opportunities. Learning to cook helps them eat quality food while staying away from their homes.

How can we learn it

Cooking is a practical skill. You cannot learn it by reading books. To become an expert in it, you must spend time in the kitchen cooking various mouth-watering delicacies.
