SAMPLE ANSWER PART 2-CUE CARD

Introduction

We occasionally prefer to spend time with our near and dear ones; however, sometimes, circumstances do not allow us to do so. Recently I have had such a situation.

When was it? Where was it?

On my last birthday, I had to celebrate alone at my home.

Why were you alone?

My birthday falls in February. During that time, all of a sudden, the 2nd wave of corona pandemic made inroads, and the local administration didn’t have any other option but to announce the lockdown.

My family members were on vacation, which I could not join because of my exams. Due to the lockdown, they had to stay at the hotel for a few days, and I was alone at home on my birthday.

What did you do?

Firstly I had a video chat with my family and friends. After that, I baked the birthday cake by watching a video on Youtube and spent half of the day on that.

After that, I watched a movie, and I walked on the terrace at night.

How did you feel about it?

In the beginning, I felt terrible because I had always celebrated my birthdays with pomp and show, but this time the adverse circumstances did not allow me to do so.

But later on, I enjoyed spending time by myself because it allowed me to know myself in a better way, and it made me realize the importance of family and friends in our lives.
