New technologies have changed the way children spend their leisure time. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

Sample Answer 1

In the contemporary epoch, technology has brought a paradigm shift in the lifestyle, especially for children. In The modern era, numerous products and services are available that can impact a child’s psychology positively and negatively. However, the pitfalls of enhanced dependence on technology outweigh the advantages.

To begin with the benefits, cyberspace contains enormous content and updates that children can utilize to develop their brain power and acquire new skills in their leisure time. They can take advantage of this platform to fetch information about any topic and lead their lives toward an impressive growth trajectory. For example, after the internet’s arrival, the number of entrepreneurs worldwide has inclined substantially. Furthermore, new developments such as social media help them to connect with others freely and easily without any geographical barriers and decipher what their life goals are

On the contrary, the new development has numerous shortcomings. Children develop an addiction to games and social media, which leads them to experience health issues such as being overweight and weakened eyesight. They develop the uncanny habit of sitting for hours, enjoying games and watching inappropriate content. India is the prime example, where after the arrival of low-cost internet, the percentage of children with eye disorders has inclined considerably. Moreover, their regular involvement with the gadgets reduces their face-to-face interactions dramatically, making them impolite, which widens the gap between their near and dear ones.

To conclude, although new technologies offer numerous benefits to children by enhancing their knowledge, they pose many threats. Hence their disadvantages outweigh the advantages.
