Sample Answer

Tobacco, primarily in the form of cigarettes, is one of the most commonly consumed drugs globally. More than a billion adults legally smoke Tobacco every day. It is detrimental to health and society because it makes them less productive. In my opinion, governments should make an informed decision to protect inhabitants from such harmful consumption because it is bound to make the people aware and adopting stringent yardsticks is an easy process for the government.

Government should conduct awareness campaigns to reduce the consumption of Tobacco. It is intuitively true that making people aware can solve the pressing problems of society, and higher authorities can do it easily with the help of people. Japan is a prime example where the government conducted awareness campaigns related to the harmful effects of Tobacco, and it helped to reduce consumption.

Moreover, the government should control the sales and production of Tobacco and set up some strict rules because it is their moral duty to protect the health of citizens. There is no denying this conviction that Tobacco is injurious to health and its detrimental effects can harm not only the individuals but the society. For instance, the Indian government made a law not to sell Tobacco to people under 18, significantly protecting youngsters.

To conclude, Tobacco is a majorly consumed drug worldwide. The government should make laws to protect the citizens because it is their undeniable responsibility, and implementing such rules is easy for them.
