English is a global language, and I have been learning it since childhood. I have attended many impressive English lessons and have memorised them by heart. One of them is interesting and worth mentioning because it impressed me a lot and brought a paradigm shift in my knowledge of English.

It was when I was in the sixth standard. I joined a new school, and in the first class, the English teacher told us what to learn in English rather than what to know. He had a lesson on learning English, so that day, he told the class that learning any language does not require too much knowledge of grammatical patterns.

Instead, it requires repetition, and rather than focusing too much on the need and details of grammar, the central focus should be on practice. And that practice should be under the guidance of a trainer. And that day, he didn’t teach us anything about grammar. Instead, he encouraged us to speak more and more and corrected our mistakes.

So that lesson changed my mindset, and after that, with my family members and friends, I started speaking English a lot, and then I would record my conversation. I would get my teacher to correct it. That lesson was a turning point in my life because, as a person who was scared of speaking in front of five people, I became a public speaker, and I enjoyed that session because the fear inside me regarding the English language went for a toss.
