Introduction

Although I have read many books in my life, one of them is special to me because it helped me get out of the lean patch, which is worth mentioning.

What book did you read?

I read a book named “How to stop worrying and start living” by Dale Carnegie.”

When did you read it?

Two years back, I had a lot of stress because I had to stay at home due to the corona pandemic. As there was a lockdown, it was not viable to go out. During that time, I read that book to bring positivity to our lives.

How did it reduce your stress?

It reduced my stress by providing me with knowledge. Firstly I learned that it is worthwhile to concentrate on the present moment and handle one day at a time to decrease overwhelming anxiety about the future. Because when we direct our thoughts toward the future, we miss the beautiful moments of our present.

Secondly, I learned that worry could restrict improvement. There is no denying this conviction that problems are an integral part of our life, and we need to deal with them through productive actions and cheerful mindsets.

However, I learned that despite our best efforts, a few things are outside our control. In such a scenario, accepting fate and moving ahead in life is worthwhile.

Lastly, I learned that the best way to reduce stress is to remain busy because when we remain occupied with work, our worries go for a toss.

Would you recommend it to others?

I recommend this book to others to read so they can bring a paradigm shift in their lives by nosediving their stress.
