Sample 1
I have a friend whose apartment is fantastic. He’s my school friend, and his name is Andrew. His apartment is different from all other apartments. I have seen it, and it is a three-story building with perfect elevation.
I visit his apartment once a week because we meet every weekend and spend time there. And his apartment is perfect for various reasons. First and foremost, it’s an eco-friendly apartment, which means a lot of greenery over there.
Moreover, there is very little glasswork because Andrew believes that India is a hot country, so if we put a lot of glass in front of our house, the glass absorbs the heat, and we have to spend more on air conditioning.
Apart from that, he has installed solar panels on the top because most of the electricity consumed at home is through solar electricity. So you do not need to spend much on electricity bills. Apart from that, he has done his best to harvest rainwater, so every drop of water that falls into his apartment into his house gets utilised.
And lastly, I like that he has created a library inside his house, so whenever I go there, I read my favourite books. For these reasons, Andrew Andrews’s house is perfect, and I would like a home like his.
Follow-ups
1. What are the differences between buildings in the city and in the countryside?
The significant difference between buildings in the city and the countryside is that in the town, the buildings are vertical in shape because there are space constraints in the city. So, you mostly see apartments and skyscrapers, whereas the development is horizontal in the countryside. Instead of flats and apartments, you see villas, bungalows, and big houses, usually with lawns in the front and back.
2 Do you prefer to live in the city or the countryside?
I prefer to live in the city for many reasons. First of all, the town has good educational facilities, which means you get good colleges and schools to study in. The healthcare facilities are also good in case of any unforeseen contingency. So you get treatment from multi-speciality hospitals. Lastly, there are a lot of entertainment facilities and cities, so you have Multiplex shopping, malls, amusement parks, etc. So that’s why I love to live in the city instead of the countryside.
3. What safety risks are there in residential buildings in cities?
In cities, there is a significant risk in residential buildings, and the first and foremost risk is fire because, in vertical structures, so many people use LPG for cooking, so any burst in the pipeline could lead to that problem. Secondly, people stay at a certain height in case of an earthquake, so it isn’t easy to come out. So, these are the two safety risks in residential buildings and cities.
4 Is it expensive to decorate a house or an apartment in the place where you live?
The place where I live is not expensive for decorating a house or an apartment. Because these days, many websites offer pan-India delivery, I can order anything related to interiors from the comfort of my home and decorate it.
