Sample 1

We must make decisions to lead our lives toward an impressive growth trajectory. I have made various informed decisions in my life; one is wealth mentioning. The decision was made when I passed my 10th standard, and during that time, I was in a dilemma as to whether I should opt for commerce or non-medical, which was challenging.

With a lot of consideration, I made this decision. It was challenging to make because, at that time, commerce was a booming industry, and there was a shortage of chartered accountants, company secretaries and cost accountants in the market.

So everyone was telling me to go into this field, but I had different plans because, since childhood, I have had a keen interest in computers. So, I wanted to go into the field of computers, but my near and dear ones were apprehensive about this decision.

So they convinced me that if I opted for commerce, that would be good, but I had a different plan because I didn’t have much interest in accountancy. So, finally, I decided to opt for non-medical, and I did my plus one plus two in the non-medical stream.

After that, I completed a BTech in computers and got a plum job with a handsome salary. So the result turned out to be good. There were two choices. So, instead of listening to others, I listened to my heart, which proved good for me.

Follow-ups

1. Do advertisements influence consumers’ decisions?

Yes, there’s no denying this conviction that advertisements influence consumers’ decisions because these advertisements usually have celebrities who endorse the products and people like those celebrities. If the celebrity promotes it, it might be a genuine product. Secondly, in the advertisement, the facts are exaggerated, and some people believe that, and out of that, they make impulsive purchases, so that’s why advertisements influence consumer decisions.

2. Who do young people like to ask for advice when making decisions? As far as young people are concerned, they are very adamant about their own choices, so most of them do not consult others while making decisions because they think they are competent enough. In contrast, some young people take advice from their parents and teachers, and these days, people also use artificial intelligence to take advice.

3. Do you think kids must make as many decisions by themselves as much as they can?

Yes, I think the kids must make as many decisions as they can because if they do that, their willpower increases and their ability to perform well also increases. After all, when they grow up, this habit helps them to lead their lives towards an impressive growth trajectory. Hence, they learn how to make informed choices.

4. Do you think some people can make decisions without asking for advice from others? Yes, some people have a perfect sixth sense; moreover, they have a balanced approach, so they are mature in decision-making; they do not take advice from others, and based on their experience and knowledge, they make choices.

5. Do you think others easily influence young people when making decisions?

Yes, young people are easily influenced by others when they make decisions because, at a young age, they do not know the repercussions of making bad decisions. Moreover, their mind is not mature enough to understand right and wrong, so they have this uncanny knack for taking advice from anyone and acting upon that.

6. What kinds of decisions do young people have to make?

Young people must make umpteen decisions, but the most critical is doing a job or a business. That is one decision, and the second is to go for a range or long marriage—these kinds of decisions young people must make.
