Sample 1

People have various plans for the perfect place they want to live. Some people want to live in a house, or some want to live in an apartment, and my ideal place would be a house on the outskirts of the hills because I love clean and pristine air, which is easy to find near the mountains. Moreover, I like to live away from the hustle and bustle of the city, so an area near the hills is a perfect place.

Moreover, whenever there is scorching heat, the places close to the mountains have a good climate, and my house would be a wooden house with all the amenities, so there would be a gymnasium inside because I’m a fitness freak. Hence, I love to exercise in the morning and the evening.

Furthermore, near the house there should be a park where I could go for a walk whenever I like and apart from this my house would be having a big kitchen because would be having a big kitchen because I love to cook different cuisines, like sometimes I try Japanese dishes, occasionally Chinese, and mostly I cook Indian dishes, so a big spacious kitchen would make my task more manageable.

And apart from this, I love to organize parties, so if there’s a spacious kitchen inside my home, I can invite my friends and throw parties on all occasions. Lastly, I would like to have a library inside my house because I’m a voracious reader and want to read books. Having a library inside the home will make my tasks more accessible so I can read books of different genres.

So I want a big house because the facilities I’m looking for are impossible in a small house. After all, I need extensive infrastructure and the library, the kitchen, and the gym; I want to be spacious, so a big house would serve my purpose and shift to my dream house would be a dream come true for me because then I can live my life as per my choice.

Sample 2

Some people want to live in the city’s hustle and bustle, and some prefer the countryside. So I would like to live the balance of my life in a big house in the middle of the farms in a countryside area.

I have been staying in the city for the last 25 years and have seen the city’s best and worst. And I believe that with the population explosion, the towns will be the wrong place to live because of lower EMI rates. A lot of people are purchasing cars.

So, moving from one place to another is a city-oriented task. I have few relatives in the cities, but I usually stay in them because going to that place means spending one day, which is quite tricky because a lot of time is lost in traffic. Apart from that, I’m getting into breeding problems because due to industries and many vehicles flying on the roads, a lot of fuel is burnt, damaging the environment.

As the air in the cities is polluted, that is another reason why I want to move to the countryside. And as far as my house is concerned in the countryside, I would like some features. The first and foremost thing would be that the whole electricity would be through solar panels because I’m an environment-conscious person and I don’t want

Another thing would be that I’ll be doing organic farming, so that I won’t be doing pesticides or pesticides.

So, switching to organic farming would be a good choice for me because there’s a lot of fast food in the city.

This organic farming would improve my health considerably, and apart from that, there would be features like a Firehouse and Swimming pool.

I’ll have a big house with all these facilities, which is about 5 acres. It will be an ideal place for me because I want to live the rest of my life peacefully under the arms of nature.

Follow-ups

Here are some examples of follow-up questions that the examiner might ask during your speaking part 3 related to the cue card: “Describe an ideal and perfect place where you would like to stay IELTS Cue Card”.

1. What do you think buildings will be like in the future?

There is no denying this conviction that the environment around us is in bad shape. That’s why the builders are leaving no stone unturned to create those buildings that are environmentally friendly.

And this trend will continue in the future. So, we will have more vertical structures than horizontal ones because of limited space. Things like vertical farming would be encouraged in the buildings, and solar panels would be installed in all the buildings.

Moreover, the windows would also have the solar panels. The building design would be so those buildings would be self-sustainable regarding energy resources.

2. Why do some people choose to live in the city centre?

Some people have this tendency to enjoy the facilities a lot. So they love to live in the city centre because all the facilities are nearby like school, shopping plaza, medical facilities, amusement parks and theatres so whenever they feel like they can have fun with their near and dear ones.

3. Do different people have different preferences for houses or apartments?

Yes, different people have different choices. Some people love the hustle and bustle of the city.

So they want to live in the heart of the city. So whether their house is big or small, it doesn’t matter to them. It should be near their friend circle.

On the contrary, some people love nature. So they want that kind of big, spacious house with a lawn, terrace, everything so they can do some gardening.

And they want it to be on the outskirts of the city so that they get clean and pristine air.

4. What would people usually consider when renting or buying a house or an apartment?

The first and foremost thing people consider is the distance of the apartment or the house from their kids’ school and offices.

How far are the basic facilities from grocery stores, vegetable markets, hospitals, and other facilities? Moreover, the air around us is essential because most people have breathing problems because of pollution. So people consider that place to have a lot of greenery.

5. Why are apartments popular in some places and not elsewhere? Apartments are usually popular in areas with a shortage of land. Moreover, certain people, especially in cities, the population wants more facilities.

And when you try to get those facilities in houses, they cost too much—for example, a swimming pool. Maintenance costs a lot if you want to build your own inside your home.

However, if you are living in an apartment, it is group housing. So constructing a swimming pool and maintaining it further is not easy because the cost gets divided. So that’s why, considering people’s requirements, apartments are more prevalent in cities than in the countryside.

6. What are apartments like in your country?

In my country, apartments usually have two or three bedrooms. They have facilities like those apartments, which are mostly part of group housing. So there is common security, good facilities like basketball and badminton, and some shops inside the township.

So that is regarding the apartments in our country. And people prefer low-rise flats. That means they want apartments with ground plus three floors, not multi-storey skyscrapers.
