What did you like to do the most when you were in primary school?
In the initial days of school, my central focus was on having fun with my amigos. However, with time, I realized the importance of study in my life, and I enjoyed studying with determination, dedication and discipline. Apart from this, I liked playing sports.
How did you go to your primary school?
Since my school was at a distance from my home, I used to go by school bus.
Why do you like your primary school?
I like my primary school because the knowledge acquired from there led to a paradigm shift in my life, and the quality time spent over there will always remain etched in my memories.
. What did you do in your leisure time in your primary school?
Being a sports enthusiast, I would spend most of my leisure time in school while playing games. Apart from this, on a few occasions, I would engage in gossip with my friends.
What are the essential components of a well-rounded primary school education curriculum?
For a well-rounded curriculum in primary school, they should take care of cognition, thinking, and listening skills. So accordingly, they should plan their curriculum so the children can learn every aspect and their minds can explore every sense of it.
How do primary schools foster the social and emotional development of young children?
Primary schools are doing well, and they have evolved over the years. They can foster emotions and thinking by making the kids play in a team.
They encourage teamwork, and they teach them basic things like shoelacing and colouring the tree in an appropriate colour. So, in all, it creates a good place for the children.
Can you discuss the role of technology in primary education and how it enhances learning experiences in the classroom?
So these days, e-classrooms have been installed in every school. E-classrooms or technological advancement leads the student or the child to assume and widen their scope of imagination.
They learn a lot from animations; if portrayed correctly, animations can give them specific life lessons. At least they can teach them good manners and moral values.
How do primary schools support students with diverse learning needs and abilities?
Primary schools support children’s different learning skills and abilities by keeping the teacher and child ratio appropriate. The teacher should at least give attention to every child properly.
By doing that, interacting personally with every kid will ensure that they are keeping an eye on the abilities of every child.
What strategies effectively promote parental involvement and engagement in primary school education?
So, parental involvement is significant. We cannot rely on children’s growth just by sending them to school. They need to be conditioned throughout the years because they are just like clay, which needs to be shaped. So, parental involvement is essential.
Parents should check what their child is studying in school, and they should talk to them, and they should even teach them while they are at home.
How do primary schools address bullying and promote a safe and inclusive learning environment?
So primary schools create a bullying-free environment by telling the students what is right and wrong, what to do and what to not.
And it makes sense to children that they belong to this place, this classroom, and all of their friends; this is your second family. So they feel that this is a safe space, and these days, the incidences of bullying, especially in primary school, have decreased.
Can you discuss the importance of incorporating arts, music, and physical education into the primary school curriculum?
Incorporating arts, physical education, and music is essential. Not only does it give them an idea of what they want to pick up as their professional career, but it also gives them an insight into every type of activity.
So, for example, if somebody in the future becomes a doctor or an engineer, they will have a taste of physical activities or sports because they have played them in school. Similarly, if a person becomes a sports person, they will have the taste of music and dance because they have done it in school. It increases their thinking and imagination ability and gives them a flavour of every field.
What measures can primary schools take to promote environmental awareness and sustainability among students?
They can organize small events or competitions to tell the students they have to make the best out of waste. For example, in my school, they used to hold a competition where we were supposed to make carry bags out of newspaper, and whoever created the most appropriate kind of carry bag out of newspaper would win.
From that, we learn how to make a carry bag from a newspaper. So now, even if today I need to carry something to the market or I need to carry a carry bag to the market so that I can carry something from there, I make a paper bag out of the newspaper. And it is a healthy habit that I am not using polythene daily.
How do primary schools prepare students to transition to secondary education and beyond?
They prepare the child by telling them how the primary school differs from the secondary school. Already, the children are motivated to jump on to the next class because they are looking at the seniors and their elder siblings.
So, they already know they have to move on to the following standard. But the primary teachers, sometimes they create specific, in some schools there is a trim level of convocation also done these days and they make them feel that you have achieved something by transitioning to the secondary school.
In what ways do extracurricular activities contribute to the holistic development of students in primary school?
Studying is important, but studying various physical activities, such as music and dance, creates a sense of awareness among the children. They also learn that there are many ways in which they can explore themselves. Holistic growth is essential, which can be achieved by providing them with the facility to experience every aspect of life.
