I have this uncanny knack for exhibiting new things to others. So whenever I have something new to shoot others, I leave no stone unturned to shoot. Two years back, I learned about chat GPT, an AI platform.

So it is a software program which can do various tasks for you. It can write letters, write paragraphs, generate code, and give you advice related to psychology, construction work, and any other domain.

So, it was a relatively new thing, and only a few people knew it. So, I went for my college union and showed it to all my friends from different domains during that time. Some were working as the kind of leaders; some were in the field of writing.

So when I showed the power of Chat GPT to them, they were mesmerized, and they came to know that after that day, their life would change because they understood that the tasks on which they are putting their heart are now accessible with the Chat GPT. They could do that in minutes instead of hours.

I felt perfect about it because since childhood, I have loved to help those people, and with my knowledge, I gave an ideal tool for my friends to do their tasks and have the very best period.

There’s no denying this conviction that new things always fascinate others because human beings have this tendency that they tend to get bored with old things, so whenever there is something new, they get a vast dopamine spike, which is a hormone which releases happiness.

So, three days back, I showed others something new: the iPhone 16 Ultra Pro Max. So this phone was recently launched. It was available in Dubai, and my brother was there. So he bought it for me from there. So I showed it to my circle of friends. There were ten friends. I invited them to my home, and we had a party, and after that, I told them I loved the party. I’ll give them a surprise.

So I showed them the new phone and the new features, and the first and foremost feature I targeted was a massive leap in battery life, unlike the previous iPhone model.

The earlier mobile phones had a good battery life but differed from the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The second thing I described to them was the larger display size. Its display is more prominent than that of the previous phone. So, that was another striking feature of it.

The best feature was the powerful pro camera capabilities, which allow two persons to view one picture while one person is missing. So, you can also include that person in the picture. We had 11 friends, but two of them were missing. So, with the features, we got them included in the photograph.

So, these are the features I discussed. And after that, my friend liked it a lot. And I felt perfect about it because showing something new, which is unique, which is recently in the market, is a good thing and other feels good about you. So, that was a good experience, and the decision I made with my friends will always remain in my mind.

Follow-ups

Here are some examples of follow-up questions that the examiner might ask during your speaking part 3 related to the cue card: “Describe a time that you showed something new to others IELTS Cue Card”.

1. How can young people be motivated to learn new things?

We must teach young people the benefits of learning new things to motivate them to learn new things. The first and foremost benefit you can tell is that by learning new things, they can think beyond the conventional domain because if we keep doing the same things repeatedly, then getting different results is an incorrect approach.

When we do not learn new things, we get into a comfort zone and can explain the same to the people who break the shackles to come out of the comfort zone; we need to learn new things. Moreover, learning new things opens new avenues, and we test our physical and mental capabilities better.

2. What skills do you think children should learn before school?

Before school, children should learn basic speaking to interact with the teachers and the other students. Apart from that, they need to be good at hand-eye coordination, so they should be able to pick and identify the objects.

3. Why are some people unwilling to ask for help from others while studying?

Some people are of introverted culture and think asking others for help is not prudent. Moreover, they are shy, and specific individuals believe that when they ask for help from others, whatever their preparation, the others will come to know about it, so that’s why they do not tell.

4. What are the differences between what adults learn and what children learn?

The things that children learn are more fun-oriented, and their primary focus is to gain knowledge and have fun with what they do. On the contrary, the adults have other motives in their minds. Firstly, they think about others, whereas children focus on their work; they do not think about what others think about their tasks. Another thing is that adults want to learn those things from which they can earn something that might benefit them. So, their sole motive could be more fun.

5. What qualities should a good learner have?

First and foremost, a good learner should be patient enough because you can only learn new things if you are patient. When you learn new things, you need to step out of your comfort zone and have patience.

The next important thing is the focus. A good learner should concentrate on the task at hand. His attention should not be diverted towards other things going here and there, and he should focus on the task. Only then will he become a good learner.
