Sample 1
In the modern era, people do not like to express their feelings because they think it would open their personality in front of others, and that’s why very few people are there who openly express their feelings.
I know that one such person; that’s why he’s worth mentioning. He is my friend, Andrew, and I have known him for six years because we studied in college together, and after that, we worked together on various projects. He is such a person who shows his feelings very openly because he’s an extrovert.
Moreover, he hasn’t learnt the art of being diplomatic. Another reason is that his attitude of expressing his feelings openly has worked like a charm for him because he need not lie about anything because whatever he is in front of others, and due to that, people respect him a lot, and he’s an open book. That’s why the clients also appreciate him.
I have mixed feelings about him because this attitude of expressing my feelings openly is a double-edged sword. Sometimes, it works in your favour, and sometimes, it goes against you because not everything you can express in the open, and in some scenarios, you need to be tight-lipped because expressing your feelings could make you prone to the bad behaviour of others, because others become judgmental after seeing your feelings. They may try to take advantage of your feelings.
Follow-ups
1. Do you think it’s good for people to share their feelings openly?
People should not share their feelings openly because others could exploit them. When you share your feelings, you tell what is inside your mind, and then people start playing mind games with you, which could jeopardise your reputation.
2. Who tends to show feelings more openly, adults or children?
Children tend to show emotions more openly because when you grow up, you realise that exhibiting emotions in front of others is not prudent. As far as children are concerned, they are clear-hearted, so they do not tend to hide feelings.
3. Regarding showing emotions, are there any differences between men and women?
Men are the ones who can suppress their emotions, whereas women are masters at exhibiting their feelings, so whenever it is a happy or sad moment, women show their emotions.
