Sample 1

Being a competitive person, I tend to participate in various competitions, and now I plan to participate in a contest related to singing. The competition will take place in an auditorium near my home.

This competition is for all age groups and will be held next month. I want to participate in it for many reasons. First and foremost, singing is my passion. I get into a flow whenever I sing, and my worries go for a toss.

Apart from that, the other thing is that I’m a competitive person. So, when participating in a competition, you think beyond the conventional domain and leave your comfort zone. That is another thing I like. And the third thing is that I have too much free time.

By participating in the competition, I can use that time effectively. Another thing is that this competition’s price money is too high. So if I win it, I can buy something good for myself like a new laptop, TV, or mobile phone. These are the reasons why I want to participate.

Follow-ups

1. Do you think the ability to complete is natural or learned?

The ability to complete is learned because you try to improve when you become good at one thing. And in this way, you know how to compete with others. So yes, it is an acquired ability, but you can understand it with determination, dedication, and discipline.

2. What kinds of people like to take part in competitions?

Those people like participating in competitions and investing time and money in a skill set. So they become good at one thing, and when they think they have enough confidence to perform, they participate in competitions and work with the clear instinct to beat others.

3. Do you think it is necessary to encourage people to compete with one another in companies?

I don’t think so. It is required. Rather than competing with others, one should compete with oneself. If we improve our performance by 1% each day, we can lead our careers towards an impressive growth trajectory by the end of the year. Our focus should be on improving ourselves rather than competing with others.

4. What kinds of industries need competition and why?

The industries where the competition is prominent are industries like FMCG telecom, where the prize war is always there. So competition is necessary so you can compete for either prizes or services. These kinds of industries require a lot of competition, and companies with better products and better services with at least prizes generally believe in the competition.

5. Why are competition shows popular?

Competition shows are popular because they are a source of entertainment for people. Young people watch them, and they gain confidence and a lot of information. In contrast, older people are a perfect time-passing activity, and competition shows empower the general public to think beyond the conventional domain.

6. What are the contests commonly seen on TV programs?

TV programs have two kinds of contests: singing and dancing. So these are two domains on which reality TV programs pivot around.
