Although the Internet has numerous benefits, it also creates many problems in our lives. I fully agree with this statement because it wastes time and confuses the general public.

To begin with, the Internet is the foremost cause of time waste. Numerous mobile phone applications such as Youtube, Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp try to keep engaging people by showing content they like. So, people spend most of their time on the Internet, which they can effectively utilize for acquiring new skills. Instagram is the prime example of showing reels related to everyday life, comedy videos, etcetera, and people keep scrolling through them. What keeps people engaged is that they only show them videos based on content they like to watch.

Furthermore, the Internet could be more precise and transparent regarding the news, articles, books and content related to the studies. There is so much information on the Internet that some of the information is correct, some of which are rumors. So, people need clarification about what they believe. For example, if I search for IELTS preparation content, there are many websites, and every website will have distinct information. Many IELTS experts give false tips and tricks to earn money, so the Internet leads to chaos in the minds of its users.

To conclude, the Internet has numerous benefits but creates many problems in individuals’ lives. It causes so much confusion and wastes much of their precious time.
