IELTS Speaking Part 1 Museums

Do you enjoy visiting museums?

Yes, I do like to visit museums. I think museums give us a lot of knowledge and are full of excessive knowledge. So I think, yes, I visit museums frequently. What type of museums do you like the most? My interests are more towards archaeology. So, I prefer museums based on archaeologists, like old monuments, buildings, and heritage sites. So I prefer the museums like that. Can you describe a memorable experience you had in a museum? Yes, there was a short trip. I went to the museum. It’s called the Banda Singh Bahadur Museum. It is in Amritsar. It’s one city in Punjab, India. So I went there. There were a lot of things over there which were very worth seeing. They are the people who like our nation and the people who like who are freedom fighters. So it was a nice experience, and I learned a lot about my traditions and history and various things I was not familiar with. How often do you visit museums in your city or country? Well, in India, there are a lot of museums. So I frequently went to the museum there, but when I came to Canada, I really didn’t get a chance to visit any museum, and since I came here, I have only gone to two museums. What role do museums play in preserving culture and history? Museums play a vital role in preserving our history and culture because they hold all the things that are related to our past, like our ancestors and our history. And like museums, the people who are working in the museums are well qualified, and they are like they better know how to perform their jobs. They help to save our culture and our traditions. So yes, by counting everything, I think the museum plays a very important role in saving our community and heritage. How do you think museums can attract more visitors, especially younger people?  I have seen many things in the museums like they put high fees, the entry fees on the museums. The reduction in the same would be effective. By this, we can allow more people, especially youngsters, and apart from that, we can give them some refreshments and target our audience by introducing their interests.Should museums be free to enter? Definitely, yes. As I said, museums should be free; museums should give free entry because, like this, we can gain more customers. Apart from that, we can spread knowledge about our traditions and culture to people, and it’s based on knowledge, and I think knowledge should be free for everyone.  Are there any famous museums in your country you would recommend to tourists? Oh, definitely, yes. There are a lot of museums that are worth seeing,  watching, and visiting. If I have to recommend the museum, I would prefer to visit the Jallianwala Bagh Museum in Amritsar. Apart from that, there is one museum called the  Bookshala. It’s in Kapurthala, and many books from different cultures are available there. So, I highly recommend these two museums.
